How Shipping Works
Shipping coordination and invoicing are managed through Shipping Saint, our third-party shipping platform, when shipping is available and requested.
A separate shipping invoice will generally be issued within five (5) business days following the close of the auction for items eligible for shipping.
Shipping charges are based on carrier rates plus packing and handling fees, which vary based on the size, shape, weight, fragility, value, and special handling requirements of each item.
Property will not be released for shipment until both the lot invoice and the shipping invoice have been paid in full with cleared funds.
Tracking information will be provided when available.
Shipping Charges
Shipping charges may include:
Carrier charges, including UPS, FedEx, USPS, or freight as applicable
Packing materials and labor
Handling fees
Insurance, where applicable

Charges vary by lot. Because items differ in size, weight, fragility, value, and packaging requirements, shipping costs cannot be estimated in advance for all lots. Bidders are encouraged to contact us prior to bidding if they require an estimate.
Oversized, Fragile, Heavy, Vehicle & High-Value Items
Certain items may require custom packing, crating, buyer-arranged transport, loading assistance, or third-party freight service, including but not limited to:

Fragile items, including glass, ceramics, mirrors, and artwork

Heavy equipment, vehicles, machinery, and large shop items may require proper transport arrangements at the buyer’s expense.

Storage & Unclaimed Property

If property remains unclaimed for thirty (30) days following auction close, and reasonable notice has been provided to the buyer of record, the property may be deemed abandoned and disposed of in accordance with applicable Wisconsin law. Best Estate Services, Inc. shall not be liable for any loss in value resulting from such disposition.
Release of Liability — Shipping & Transit
Once property has been tendered to Shipping Saint, a carrier, freight provider, transport company, or other third-party shipper, Best Estate Services, Inc. has no further responsibility for the property.
Best Estate Services, Inc. is not liable for:
Loss, theft, or damage occurring during transit
Shipping delays or missed delivery windows
Carrier errors or mishandling
Damage resulting from inadequate carrier handling after release
Freight or transport delays
Acts or omissions of third-party shipping, freight, or transport providers
All claims for loss or damage in transit must be filed directly with the carrier, freight provider, transport company, or Shipping Saint. Best Estate Services, Inc. does not guarantee shipping rates, delivery times, carrier performance, or freight provider performance.
International Shipping
Best Estate Services, Inc. does not guarantee the availability of international shipping for any lot.
International buyers are responsible for:
All customs duties, import taxes, tariffs, and fees
Compliance with all applicable import/export laws and regulations

Damaged or Lost Shipments
In the unfortunate event that your item arrives damaged or is lost in transit:

Because many lots are antique, vintage, used, estate property, shop property, tools, equipment, vehicles, or heavy equipment, they may exhibit age, wear, use, repairs, restorations, alterations, losses, imperfections, mechanical issues, missing parts, or other condition issues not specifically noted in the catalog description or photographs. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that a lot is free from defects.
By bidding, each bidder acknowledges that they have had the opportunity to inspect the property and are relying solely on their own judgment in determining the condition, value, completeness, operability, and suitability of the lot.
Online Bidding; Technical Issues; Closing of Lots
This is an online auction. Bidding depends on third-party technology, internet connectivity, software, servers, devices, and the bidding platform. Best Estate Services, Inc. shall not be responsible for missed bids, delayed bids, failed transmissions, platform interruptions, browser issues, internet outages, or other technical failures beyond its reasonable control.
Because of internet latency or device-related delay, bids placed at the last moment may not be received or recorded in time. Bidders are encouraged to refresh their browser near the close of bidding and to use the Max Bid feature whenever possible.
Final auction results shall be based on the records maintained by the bidding platform and the Auction Company. In the event of a dispute, clerical error, cataloging error, inventory issue, or technical malfunction, the Auction Company shall have sole discretion to determine the successful bidder, reopen bidding, withdraw a lot, cancel a sale, or otherwise resolve the matter.
Buyer’s Fee / Buyer’s Premium and Additional Charges
A tiered buyer’s fee, also referred to as a buyer’s premium, applies to all purchases as follows:

Third-Party Services and Consignor Disclosure
Best Estate Services, Inc. acts as auction company and agent for consignors, estates, and third-party sellers and, unless expressly stated otherwise, is not the owner of the property offered for sale.
Best Estate Services, Inc. may use third-party service providers in connection with the auction, including but not limited to online bidding platforms, Shipping Saint for shipping coordination, payment processors, carriers, packers, freight companies, and other service providers reasonably necessary to administer the sale. By registering and bidding, each bidder authorizes the Auction Company to share the information reasonably necessary to complete the transaction with such providers.
Descriptions, condition statements, provenance information, and other lot information may be based in whole or in part on information supplied by the consignor, estate, seller, or obtained from third-party sources. While Best Estate Services, Inc. endeavors in good faith to accurately identify and describe each lot, the Auction Company does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of such information and shall not be liable for errors, omissions, or misattributions.
Third-party providers are independent contractors. Best Estate Services, Inc. shall not be responsible for delays, errors, service failures, loss, or damage caused by any third-party platform, shipper, carrier, freight provider, or service provider.
Auction Company’s Rights
The Auction Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to withdraw any lot, reject any bid, reopen or extend bidding, divide or combine lots, cancel or reschedule any sale, refuse service, require proof of identity or funds, or resolve any dispute as it deems appropriate.
The Auction Company’s records shall be final and conclusive in the event of any dispute concerning bidding, payment, or the sale of any lot.
