This remarkable lifetime collection was assembled by John Horvath, a member of the Kettle Moraine Geological Society, and offers an exciting opportunity for mineral collectors, lapidary artists, rockhounds, jewelry makers, dealers, and geology enthusiasts.
The auction includes a wide assortment of collectible mineral specimens, crystals, gemstones, rough rock, polished stones, lapidary materials, slabs, display specimens, and geological curiosities.
Featured materials include quartz, smoky quartz, amethyst, tourmaline, malachite, smithsonite, celestite, fluorite, turquoise, jade, agate, jasper, aquamarine, emerald, ruby, topaz, moonstone, obsidian, chalcedony, chrysoprase, and many additional minerals and gemstones.
Specimens and materials represented in the collection originate from locations throughout the United States and from countries including Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, Australia, and other regions around the world. Many pieces retain collector-applied identification or locality labels.
All prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the scheduled preview and personally inspect the collection before bidding. Mineral identifications and origins are based primarily on collector-applied labels and available research and have not been independently authenticated.

This is a live, in-person public auction.
This auction is not an approval sale. All sales are final. No returns, refunds, exchanges, or credits will be accepted.
CONDITIONS OF SALE
This public auction is conducted by Best Estate Services Inc. (“Auctioneer”).
Best Estate Services Inc. acts solely as an agent for the owner or consignor of the property being sold.
By registering, receiving a bidder number, placing a bid, or purchasing an item, each bidder acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and any additional terms or announcements made by the Auctioneer.
Announcements made by the Auctioneer before or during the auction shall take precedence over previously published or printed information.
AS-IS, WHERE-IS CONDITION
All items are sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with all faults and without any guarantee or warranty, express or implied.
Best Estate Services Inc., its auctioneers, agents, employees, and consignors make no representations or warranties regarding the correctness of any description or statement concerning an item’s:

• Condition
• Age
• Size
• Weight
• Quality
• Quantity
• Rarity
• Origin
• Provenance
• Historical relevance
• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
Descriptions, labels, photographs, measurements, condition reports, and verbal statements are provided in good faith for identification and informational purposes only. They are not guarantees or warranties.
No oral or written statement shall be considered a guarantee unless expressly included in a written agreement signed by an authorized representative of Best Estate Services Inc.
INSPECTION
All prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to personally inspect the items before bidding.
Bidders are responsible for examining each item and determining its condition, quality, authenticity, completeness, suitability, and value before placing a bid.
An opportunity to inspect the items will be provided before the auction begins. Failure to inspect an item does not relieve the successful bidder of the obligation to complete the purchase.
Items may show signs of age, wear, use, damage, repairs, alterations, missing components, environmental exposure, or other imperfections.
BIDDER REGISTRATION
All bidders must register and receive a bidder number before placing a bid.
The Auctioneer may require bidders to provide valid government-issued photo identification and any other information reasonably necessary to complete registration.
The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or revoke bidding privileges at any time.
Bidder numbers are issued to individual registered bidders and may not be transferred or shared.
The registered bidder is responsible for all bids placed using their bidder number.
LIVE BIDDING
This is a live, in-person auction.
The Auctioneer will determine bidding increments and may accept or reject any bid at the Auctioneer’s discretion.
The highest bid acknowledged by the Auctioneer constitutes a legally binding agreement to purchase the item.
The Auctioneer’s decision regarding the successful bidder, final bid amount, bidding increments, or any other matter arising during the auction shall be final.
If a bidding dispute occurs, the Auctioneer may:
• Reopen bidding
• Resell the item
• Recognize the last undisputed bid
• Determine the successful bidder
• Withdraw the item
• Take any other action considered appropriate
BUYER’S PREMIUM AND FEES
A 20% buyer’s premium will be added to the successful bid price of each lot.
A 3% credit card processing fee will apply to payments made by credit or debit card.
Applicable sales tax and any other required fees will be added to the final invoice unless the bidder provides valid tax-exemption documentation acceptable to Best Estate Services Inc.

Payment is due in full immediately following the auction.
No purchased item may be removed until the bidder’s entire invoice has been paid, verified, and approved.
Best Estate Services Inc. may require additional identification, payment verification, or proof of available funds before accepting payment or releasing purchased property.
Possession of purchased property will not transfer until payment has been received and approved.
SALES TAX
Applicable Wisconsin sales tax will be charged unless the purchaser provides a valid and properly completed tax-exemption certificate before payment.
Tax-exemption documentation must be approved by Best Estate Services Inc. before the invoice is finalized.
Sales tax will not be removed after payment has been completed unless required by law.
NO SHIPPING AVAILABLE
SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS AUCTION.
Best Estate Services Inc. will not package, ship, transport, deliver, store, or arrange third-party shipment of any purchased item.
Bidders should not place a bid unless they are prepared to pay for and remove all winning lots from the auction location immediately after payment.
The inability to transport, load, or remove an item does not cancel the sale and does not relieve the successful bidder of the obligation to pay.
IMMEDIATE REMOVAL REQUIRED
All winning bidders must pay for and remove their purchased items from the auction premises on the day of the auction.
All winning lots must be removed immediately after payment has been completed and approved.
No item may be removed until the bidder’s entire invoice has been paid in full.
Successful bidders are responsible for providing all necessary labor, carts, dollies, boxes, packing materials, tools, vehicles, trailers, lifting equipment, loading equipment, and protective equipment.
Best Estate Services Inc. does not guarantee that staff, equipment, tools, packing materials, or loading assistance will be available.
Bidders must evaluate the size and weight of each item before bidding and arrive prepared to safely remove all purchases without damaging the property, other merchandise, or surrounding areas.
The Auctioneer may stop or prohibit any removal activity considered unsafe or likely to cause injury or property damage.
AUTHORIZED REMOVAL
Purchases may be released only to the registered bidder unless Best Estate Services Inc. has received advance written authorization allowing another individual to remove the items.
The authorized individual must present valid government-issued photo identification and may be required to sign the paid invoice acknowledging receipt of the property.
The registered bidder remains responsible for the actions of any person removing property on the bidder’s behalf.
ITEMS NOT REMOVED
Any item not removed by the required deadline may be considered abandoned at the Auctioneer’s discretion.
Abandoned items may be retained, moved, resold, discarded, donated, or otherwise disposed of without refund or further notice to the purchaser.
The purchaser remains responsible for the full invoice amount and for any expenses resulting from the failure to remove purchased property, including labor, moving, disposal, damage, legal, and storage costs.
Failure to remove an item does not cancel the sale or entitle the purchaser to a refund, credit, or chargeback.
FINAL SALE AND BIDDER DEFAULT
All sales are final.
A successful bid creates a binding obligation to pay for and remove the purchased item.
A bidder’s inability to pay for, transport, load, or use an item does not cancel the sale or relieve the bidder of their obligations.
If a successful bidder fails to complete payment, Best Estate Services Inc. may pursue any remedy available, including:
• Canceling the sale
• Reselling the property
• Retaining any deposit or partial payment
• Suspending future bidding privileges
• Recovering any deficiency between the original bid and resale price
• Recovering collection costs, legal fees, labor costs, and other expenses
The defaulting bidder remains responsible for all losses and expenses resulting from the default.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND LIABILITY
All persons attending the auction, inspection, payment period, or removal period enter the premises at their own risk.
Best Estate Services Inc., the Auctioneer, the property owner, the consignor, and their respective auctioneers, agents, and employees are not responsible for accidents, injuries, theft, loss, property damage, or other claims arising from attendance at the auction or the inspection, handling, loading, or removal of purchased items.
Bidders and their representatives are responsible for any injury or property damage they cause.
Children and unauthorized individuals must be supervised at all times.
AUCTIONEER’S RIGHTS
The Auctioneer reserves the right to:
• Withdraw any item before or during the auction
• Add, combine, divide, or reorganize lots
• Change the order of sale
• Establish or change bidding increments
• Reject any bid
• Refuse or revoke bidding privileges
• Resolve bidding disputes
• Correct clerical, cataloging, or administrative errors
• Reopen bidding when necessary
• Cancel, postpone, or relocate the auction
• Make additional announcements or changes on the day of the auction
The Auctioneer’s decisions are final.
CATALOG AND DESCRIPTIONS
Any catalog, inventory, lot number, label, photograph, or description is provided as a guide only.
The Auctioneer does not guarantee that every item will be offered in the order listed or that all listed items will be available at the time of sale.
Errors or omissions in descriptions, photographs, labels, or announcements do not invalidate a sale or entitle the purchaser to a refund.
Bidders must rely on their own inspection and judgment when bidding.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
