Shipping Terms & Conditions

Best Estate Services, Inc.

“Buy multiple lots and save on shipping – we combine all orders”

Please read carefully before bidding. By registering and placing a bid, you acknowledge and agree to these Shipping Terms & Conditions in their entirety.

1. Buyer's Responsibility

Buyers are solely responsible for all shipping, packing, handling, freight, insurance, and delivery costs. Shipping is not included in the hammer price or total purchase price unless expressly stated in the individual lot listing.

Bidders with questions or concerns about shipping availability, costs, or requirements for a specific lot are strongly encouraged to contact us before bidding.

📧 hello@bestestateservices.com 📞 (262) 799-5167

2. How Shipping Works

Shipping coordination and invoicing are managed through Shipping Saint, our third-party shipping partner.

  • A separate shipping invoice will generally be issued within five (5) business days following the close of the auction.

  • Shipping charges are based on carrier rates plus packing and handling fees, which vary based on the size, shape, weight, fragility, and special handling requirements of each item.

  • Property will not be released for shipment until both the lot invoice and the shipping invoice have been paid in full with cleared funds.

  • Tracking information will be provided when available.

3. Shipping Charges

Shipping charges include:

  • Carrier charges (UPS, FedEx, USPS, or freight as applicable)

  • Packing materials and labor

  • Handling fees

  • Insurance (where applicable)

Charges vary by lot. Because items differ in size, fragility, and packaging requirements, shipping costs cannot be estimated in advance for all lots. Bidders are encouraged to contact us prior to bidding if they require an estimate.

4. Oversized, Fragile & High-Value Items

Certain items may require custom packing, crating, or third-party freight service, including but not limited to:

  • Oversized or heavy items

  • Fragile items (glass, ceramics, mirrors, artwork)

  • High-value items requiring special insurance or handling

  • Items prohibited from standard carrier shipping

For these lots, additional packing, crating, or freight charges will apply. Please contact us before bidding to confirm shipping availability and estimated requirements for any lot that may fall into these categories.

Best Estate Services, Inc. reserves the right to decline standard shipping for certain lots at its sole discretion and to require alternative freight or pick-up arrangements.

5. Local Pick-Up

Local pick-up is available only when expressly stated in the auction listing. Unless the listing specifically offers local pick-up, all items will be shipped.

When local pick-up is available:

  • All property must be removed within the stated pick-up window or any extension approved in writing by the Auctioneer.

  • Cash is not accepted at any pick-up location.

  • Payment must be completed in full before property is released.

6. Storage & Unclaimed Property

All items must be picked up or have shipping arrangements completed within two (2) weeks of auction close, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Best Estate Services, Inc.

Items not claimed within this period will incur storage charges of:

$10.00 per lot, per day — regardless of size or value.

If property remains unclaimed for thirty (30) days following auction close, and reasonable notice has been provided to the buyer of record, the property may be deemed abandoned and disposed of in accordance with applicable Wisconsin law. Best Estate Services, Inc. shall not be liable for any loss in value resulting from such disposition.

7. Release of Liability — Shipping & Transit

Once property has been tendered to Shipping Saint, a carrier, freight provider, or other third-party shipper, Best Estate Services, Inc. has no further responsibility for the property.

Best Estate Services, Inc. is not liable for:

  • Loss, theft, or damage occurring during transit

  • Shipping delays or missed delivery windows

  • Carrier errors or mishandling

  • Damage resulting from inadequate carrier handling after release

All claims for loss or damage in transit must be filed directly with the carrier or Shipping Saint. Best Estate Services, Inc. does not guarantee shipping rates, delivery times, or carrier performance.

8. International Shipping

Best Estate Services, Inc. does not guarantee the availability of international shipping for any lot. International buyers are responsible for:

  • All customs duties, import taxes, tariffs, and fees

  • Compliance with all applicable import/export laws and regulations

  • Any restrictions on the import of specific items in their country

Best Estate Services, Inc. shall not be liable for delays, confiscation, or additional charges arising from customs clearance or international transit.

9. Damaged or Lost Shipments

In the unfortunate event that your item arrives damaged or is lost in transit:

  1. Document the damage immediately — take photographs of the packaging and item before unpacking further.

  2. Retain all original packaging materials — carriers may require inspection.

  3. Contact Shipping Saint directly to initiate a claim.

  4. Notify Best Estate Services, Inc. at hello@bestestateservices.com as a courtesy so we may assist where possible.

Best Estate Services, Inc. is not a party to any shipping claim and cannot guarantee outcomes of claims filed with carriers or Shipping Saint.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Best Estate Services, Inc., its officers, employees, agents, and representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from shipping, packing, handling, transit, storage, or the acts or omissions of any third-party shipping provider or carrier.

The maximum liability of Best Estate Services, Inc. with respect to shipping of any lot shall not exceed the hammer price actually paid for that lot.
